Well, it took some time, but I finally recovered from my sickness just in time for perhaps the busiest, craziest week ever. Having finally caught up for a bit, feel free to click the images to read a little more about how each image is my response to the joy of LOVE prompts.

:: Week 5 ::

It’s official – I’ve made it a full month!! I think this is the first week that I’ve had to play catch up with a picture, but I think I’m OK with that. Funny thing, is that I’m also trying to keep myself more organized with my photo files. There was something so pleasing and secure seeing the file number match the date and knowing I was right on track. Then February 1, rolled around and the file number became 32-365. Sure, it’s not that big of a deal, but folks, if this threw me for a loop now, in February I can only imagine how crazy I’ll be in October, when I haven’t a clue if I’ve missed a day or not!

I think I’ve figured out a way around this, until I learn more about how to pare down the number of files I keep on my dear computer.

This week has had us in several different modes – from slowing down and taking in the new fallen snow, to feeling completely done with the slush and salt of winter. We tried (and loved) “dip-eggs” this week, and enjoyed fun and funky ice cream with friends on Friday! I’m still learning, thinking and reading all I can about business, and Thursday we got to play with a fun new document camera – imagine the possibilities in the classroom!

:: Week 2 ::

The first week was surprisingly easy. Something would happen around the house and I’d realize that this was my shot for the day. Inspiration was a little less obvious this week. While I don’t feel the same sense of pride over this week’s photos, I do think that the discipline of this process is so worth it!

I checked out a few links to other completed 365 projects and realized that I need to show more than just our kids! That, and the fact that we had 2 days without kids around the house (thanks, Grandma and Grandpa) allowed us to take a couple shots of us this week too.

:: Awakening ::

There’s something about the start of a brand. new. year. I’ve never really been one for resolutions, rather I prefer to think of fresh starts. As a teacher, I enjoy this sense of “second chance” as I prepare my classroom each fall, and again with the start of each term. As a mother, I’m in constant need of do-overs, and as a writer, I’d be nothing without revision.

Even now, with the thought of capturing an image each day as a way of recording a bit of our family’s history, I’m hesitant to commit to the idea, and it’s not for lack of desire. I l-o-v-e the idea of this. It’s the follow-through that sends a small shiver of fear down my spine. So, I’ve decided that for better or worse, I’ll shoot for a full year of daily images. I’ll attempt to post them weekly, and if I miss a ~~couple hundred~~ days, then I’ll take what I’ve got and smile at all the money I saved making a smaller coffee table book!

As you can tell things are a bit hectic around here. I’m still taking a few pictures and trying to be a bit more purposeful about scheduling writing time. Perhaps the biggest excitement is the final countdown to summer! It’s sure to be a wild ride of fun, sun and family busy-ness!

After a productive weekend with amazing people, there’s still something about seeing the sunset from a homeward bound airplane that makes the journey even sweeter! Here’s hoping I can get a few shots of my sweaty little babes up this week!! We hit 90 today and I think it’s going to be right around there most of the week!

:: Team-up Thursday ~ Moment in Time ::

When I Jaimee suggested the Moment in Time theme for this week, I was really intrigued. I already knew where I’d be and began thinking about how I would go about capturing a shot in the middle of our church service without it being considered rude or inappropriate.

It was interesting too, how much the specific details of the task made it feel much clearer, but no less creative and interpretive. even better…when I saw Jaimee’s awesome shot I was thrilled with both the similarities and stark differences between the two. Perhaps my favorite connection between the two is how I was in a church service in Michigan hearing a sermon about the importance of the fellowship of believers…and Jaimee was in Texas enjoying such fellowship.
